Sharpen your craft by getting first-hand journalism and content production experience interning with The TRiiBE. Our multimedia interns will collaborate with our editorial staff and publishing team to produce multimedia content on local businesses, current events, entertainment and more. The TRiiBE will also host monthly workshops to enrich your experience through conversations and presentations tailored to your professional goals. Interns must be available M-F between 3pm and 8pm. Multimedia News


  • Producing two multimedia stories for thetriibe.com
  • Creating engaging graphic cards for Social Media 
  • Capturing live action video and images for Twitter/Instagram live reporting 
  • Assisting in the curation of live digital community news panels 
  • Video editing timely news clips for TRiiBE TV 


  • Must be at least 18 years-old, studying journalism or a related field
  • Video editing experience required 
  • Excellent communications and writing skills 
  • Experience with social media or graphic design is a plus

Social Media / Marketing


  • Assisting in the production of live TRiiBE TV shows via Youtube and recorded interviews
  • Creating engaging graphic cards for Social Media 
  • Filming and editing short videos for TRiiBE’s music series The Forecast 
  • Adding local events to The TRiiBE’s community calendar, The Scene
  • Assistive with creative marketing campaigns and rollouts for TRiiBE brands 



  • Familiarity with Social Media platforms such as Youtube, Twitter, Instagram and Tiktok
  • Video editing experience required 
  • Knowledge of current events and trends in digital news and blogs
  • Great eye for visual aesthetics 
  • Experience with social media or graphic design is a plus



  • Creating lo-fi to hi-fidelity mockups for the following
    • new page templates on our website
    • new features/workflows on our web application, The Scene
  • Assisting development of our design system
  • Help improve existing workflows wherever necessary



  • A great sense of visual design
  • Sensitivity to user experiences across various demographics
  • Ability to think of creative and intuitive designs for different workflows
  • Experience using UI/UX applications like Figma or Sketch
  • (PREFERRED) Experience with graphic design
  • (PREFERRED) A portfolio that showcase design skills
  • (PREFERRED) Bachelor’s degree in related field


Partnerships and Sales Representative (full-time)

Join a team that is reshaping the narrative of Black Chicago through journalism, creative storytelling, events and outreach that elevates the voices and perspectives of its community.

As The TRiiBE seeks to expand our digital advertising and branded content capabilities, the Partnerships and Sales Representative will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with local and national brands. Additionally, they will execute digital ad sales for thetriibe.com and our interactive map/directory app, THE SCENE

We’re looking for a charismatic individual with exceptional writing and communication skills, and who isn’t afraid to connect with new people on a daily basis. Experience in Sales or related fields/industries is a MUST

The TRiiBE is passionate about building the creative ecosystem of Chicago, so this team member must be based in Chicago. This is a FULL-TIME position with a $30,000 salary + commission and benefits.


– Respond to all advertisement inquiries for thetriibe.com and THE SCENE app.

– Meet ad sales quotas while demonstrating excellent customer service.

– Build visually engaging analytics reports for clients and partners.

– Create and analyze intake forms for businesses while showcasing excellent customer service.

– Develop, distribute and process audience and population surveys that will help The TRiiBE cater our advertisements and branded content to the behavior of our target audience.

– Ability to work in office during shift, post COVID-19 pandemic.


– 3 years of professional work experience, at least 1 year in sales or a related field.

– Exceptional communications and writing skills (bachelor’s degree in related fields such as business communications, preferred but not required).

– Working knowledge of data processing and analytics programs like Google Analytics, Sprout Social, etc.

– Ability to build professional and visually captivating portfolios, decks and other sales aids.

– Savvy with social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

– A deep understanding and empathy for the economic, social and historical disenfranchisement of the African Diaspora.
