New Year’s Eve is a time of reflection, parties, drinks and those effervescent jams that served as the year’s soundtrack. 2017 gave us an overwhelming share of political drama, sex scandals and race clashes. But it also delivered a few blessings, too – Cardi B, Issa Rae and Donald Glover, for starters, showed us the endless possibilities of our dreams.

As the end of 2017 draws near, it’s time to figure out the move for this weekend, if you haven’t already. Here is a list of a few NYE parties happening in Black Chicago. To RSVP, or check out more happenings in Chicago, go to The Scene.

Party Noire Presents: Black Metropolis New Year’s Eve @ The Promontory

Listen to Black women. Respect Black women. Love Black women. Trust Black women.

If there ever was a time when all four of these messages were ignored by mainstream media and the rest of the country, 2017 was that time. Party Noire is the antithesis of this. Their NYE joint, Black Metropolis, is centered on the celebration of Black womanhood and is inclusive to the Black queer, trans and gender non-conforming individuals as they honor Black Joy. Featuring live performances by special guests and music by DJ Rae Chardonnay, Black Metropolis is sure to be an event like none other.

Location: The Promontory: 5311 S Lake Park Ave, Chicago

Price: $50.00 to $1,620
