As we continue to grow our editorial team at The TRiiBE, we’re in search of a Digital Engagement Editor to help us better understand our readership and build a loyal audience. The Digital Engagement Editor will be responsible for headline writing, optimizing stories for search engines, developing and driving social media and newsletter strategies and drawing actionable insights from data analytics.

Additionally, the Digital Engagement Editor will be a liaison between our editorial team and our tech team, working on strategies to increase engagement with new and current readers. The Digital Engagement Editor will report to our Editor-in-Chief.

The ideal candidate will have experience in meeting deadlines in a newsroom environment and writing clean copy. They also will have an understanding of underserved Black communities in Chicago, and the frayed relationship between them and journalism.

This is a FULL-TIME position (40 hours per week). Salary range $55,000 – $68,000 based on experience — a raise in salary will be considered after the first year of employment.
