The BLACK Series is based on the colloquialisms of Chicago’s working-class Black community. Through this project, I hope to educate people – inside and outside of Black Chicago – about our linguistic history.

Tye Moores, 21, is a fine art photographer born and raised in Chicago. She’s been included in group exhibition shows across Chicago at the Elephant Room Gallery, Plus Gallery, Jackson Junge Gallery, Tye Johnson Gallery, Morpho Gallery, Beauty & Brawn Art Gallery, Autotelic Studios and Gallery 350 at the Illinois Institute of Art.

Her photography focuses on identity within the African American community and fashion.
