Nearly a week after launching The TRiiBE, co-founders Tiffany Walden and Morgan Elise Johnson hosted an after-work celebration Tuesday at M Lounge in Chicago’s South Loop.
Lady DJ duo, THE LAB3L, kept the crowd rocking with a mix of 90s hip-hop and R&B jams, today’s hits and – of course – Chicago tunes.
Shannon Smith, whose work is featured in The TRiiBE’s docuseries Another Life, performed an original poem. And Amanie Foster, a main character in Another Life, said a few words about the importance of community healing in the aftermath of gun violence.
